a.) Costa Rica is a fairly small-sized country located in Central America between Nicaragua and Panama. It is bordered on its' other two sides by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Caribbean Sea on the east.
b.) Costa Rica is 51, 100 square kilometers in area. It consists of 51,060 square kilometers of land, and only 40 square kilometers of water. The total area of Costa Rica only amounts to 0.6% of the total area of the continental United States! To put it in even more perspective, 41 states in the entire United States have an area bigger than the entire country of Costa Rica!
c.) The terrain of Costa Rica consists mainly of coastal plains. These coastal plains, however, are separated by mountains and volcanoes.
